- Lead 23 member K-12 visual art department, identified as exemplary by the Presidents Committee on the Arts, the Kennedy Center and the Pennsylvania Department of Education with duties including staff development, budget and curriculum review and development.
- Authored the National Core Arts Standards for Media Arts for K through 14 students as a member of the National Coalition for Core Arts Standards writing team.
- Presenter on art education at conferences including the ASCD international conference, National Art Education Association, Pennsylvania Art Education Association, Pennsylvania Music Educators, Art Education Summit.
- Arts Education Collaborative - Advocacy and Education Committee.
- Directed educational programs, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts including 4,000 student school, gallery educational programs and outreach, supervised 80 faculty.
- Taught at the secondary level visual art, photography, electronic media and drama. Taught at the elementary level visual art and electronic media. Taught at the university level art education and drawing.
- Developed curricula for gifted, handicapped and general student population in elementary, secondary, and arts center settings.
- Served as arts education advisor for Carnegie Museum of Art, Warhol Museum, Mattress Factory Museum, Society for Contemporary Craft.
- Conducted seminars in art education for Carnegie Museum, University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Art Education Association, the Diocese of Pittsburgh, Sharon City Schools, and Pittsburgh Public Schools.
- Developed and taught a course in film animation as an educational tool for teachers under the auspices of the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
- Developed a program for the utilization of the art gallery by high school students in collaboration with the New Gallery for Contemporary Art in Cleveland, Ohio.
- Organized a series of high school arts festivals for the Pittsburgh Diocesan Schools that involved workshops, demonstrations, performances, and exhibits that involved several school and hundreds of students.
- Published an art and literary magazine for the Pittsburgh Diocesan high schools with support from The National Endowment for the Humanities.
- Facilitated ongoing, system-wide teacher development program and organized inservice training for art teachers.
- University research in the development of critical thinking in arts experiences. Collaborative effort with the University of Pittsburgh College of Education faculty.
